Kawasaki KLR650 for sale in Bolivia/Paraguay or North of Chile in July/Aug or Sep

Fully equipped Kawasaki KLR650 for sale in July/ August or September

The bike is in Bolivia right now and I will still travel with it for a few weeks.
Temporary Import Permit for Bolivia is till 22nd of August. So you would need to leave the country before that date. If you want to spend more time in Bolivia you could also leave for just a day and come back to get another 3 months Import Permit on your passport.
Alternatively I could also go to Paraguay or North of Chile if you are interested to buy the bike there.

Bike is on Washington plates which is easy to change ownership online. I could help you with that and get the bike registered on your name with new license plate.
Alternatively I could also do a poder on your name.

The bike is running great and has been well maintained. Air filters have been cleaned at least every 2000 miles. When riding dirt roads I did it more often. I took good care of the chain tension and greesed it regulary as well as all other moving parts. Oil and oil filters got changed every 3000 miles. I only use synthetic oil! In every big city I give a full service to the bike by a mechanic and had never any issue. I did the big services in Medellin, Bogota, Quito and Lima.

A KLR650 will be your best choice to travel South America as it has enough power to go fast on highway, overtake trucks or go up the mountains but is not too heavy so it also performs well on dirt roads. The engine is known as unbreakable and every mechanic knows it. If needed you can get spare parts easily here although the bike comes with plenty of spare parts and tools. If you should have any issue you can fix it straight away. Comes also with spare tubes, tools for changing tire and and an electric air pump that plugs in on the side of bike in case you get a flat tire. No need to connect the battery.

Overview of the bike:

Year 2009
57.000 Miles
Barkbusters
Crash bar
Cruise control
Heavy duty skidplate
2 side boxes with secure lock (you can also take them of if you plan to stay for a longer time in a city)
USB outlet
Phone holder
Plenty of ropes and a net for backpacks
Bottle holder
If you plan to travel with 2 person it got suspensions that are made for 250kg weight

I also have helmets and motorbike gear from me and my girlfriend I want to get rid off. (you can see on the pictures)

Note: The seat got a new seatcover. There is no hole like shown on the picture.

Price is $4.000 negotiable

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
