Guide: How to sell your small cc bike in south-east america

Validity: from 5/5/2017

I've just finished 13,800 km lifetime amazing trip in south america, 7 countries.

The frustrating subject, is that, ex- south america bikers are so damm lazy and selfish, they are not sharing thier experience on how to sell a bike after trip is over.

3 weeks of enormous stress, i finally sold my bike, 180cc, amazing bike, by myself.

So, if you travel south america from north and finish south east, and your bike new or in very good condition- this are your options:

1. Paraguay. Completly waste of your time. If you have small bike, no body- ever will buy your bike here. Paraguay is extremely poor country. Most of people ride this garbage chineese fabricated assembled in paraguay cheap bike KENTON. Rich people ride big expensive bikes. Poor people ride this. I tryed many many local shops- advertising in interenet- nothing.
This shop moto klein- buy only, and only big bikes- from 600cc above. In the corner they have a friend who have another "friend" that works in paraguay custome office, who illigely make foreign bikes officialy legals by enter thier details to paraguay country system for good commision. Nothing of this should bother you, if your bike under 600cc, dont even try, they aren't interested and waste thier time. Ciudad de este- most dangerous- ugly- drug trafficing city in south america- you can strip a new bike for 1-2 hundreds bucks for parts. I heard one guy 2 weeks before me did that. Thier is also some brazilian garbage lawyer sit in border city foz de iguacu his name rodolfo. He is completly slik- dushbagg guy. He is only interested in big bikes. His hostel closed long time.

Brazil. Shit. Its completly forbidden sell your bike here to local. No body will be interested cause you cant make it legal use for road.

Your only solution for selling your small cc bike in paraguay or brazil is to find other tourist.
My trip didnt finish in argentina or chile so i didnt look for information. I've only rode pass this countries.

Find a tourist and give him this transfer title to fill it together:

Using the forum search function would have make it less surprising that it's impossible to legally sell your vehicle to a local in South America and that the concept of a poder is nothing new. Maybe "damm lazy and selfish" "ex-south america bikers" don't have the time or inclination to answer the same question that has been asked ad infinitum previously?

Using a letter of attorney a.k.a poder (just copied/pasted by you from a 2+ year old HU post at http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...merica-72604-2 ) is indeed an option.

There has also been a great deal of debate as to the legality of using this type of document and the consequences regarding the validity of any insurance in the event of a road traffic incident or just meeting an officious uniformed person. Google would continue to be your friend, were the desire there (it powers the HUBB search algorithm) rather than spreading bile.

Rodolfo will be pleased to see you held him in such high regard. He organises the HU Brasil travellers' meeting and has helped scores of travellers over many years!

PS. Just wondering: Why would a poder written in Spanish have any validity if stamped/signed by an attorney in a Portuguese speaking country (Brazil)?
