Picos de Europa, Pyrenees, June - July

I'm heading down to the Picos de Europa and the coastal areas of Northern Spain in mid June, followed by a trip through the Pyrenees from west to east taking in as many of the best routes as I can. The Pyrenees have some of the best roads in Europe for biking. I'm going to be down there for about a month, from sometime around the 15th June through to mid July. I'll be camping. I'm riding a Vstrom. Anyone else going down there?

It seems that everyone wants to head for Mongolia or Kazakhstan but I'm doing Europe this year.

I`m heading there in Early October.

Would be interested to hear ideas about where to go.
I need to be in Murcia after 10 days so have plenty time to ride around.

Good evening from Bilbao, Spain, Vstromrider. Los picos de Europa are a great biking choice, you'll love it.
Here you are a lovely route starting at Cabezon de la Sal and ending at Potes:
Cabezon de la Sal, Carrejo, Ruente, Valle de Cabuerniga, Carmona, Puentenansa, La Hermida, Potes, La Vega, Portilla de la Reina, Riaño, Oseja de Sajambre, Cangas de Onis, Mestas de Con, Arenas de Cabrales, Panes, La Hermida, Potes.
Find those names at Google Maps and join them, and you'll have a lovely biking day.
If you need more info, just make me know.
Jorge.

Bautiful area to ride and great hospitatlity in the Picos. Potes makes a good base. Plenty of trails available and the passes should be clear of snow at that time too.

The roads down through the Pyreneses are stunning rides also.

leaving 26th

After a few delays, I'm heading for Northern Spain next week, leaving on the 26th. I'll be in the area around the Picos de Europa for about a week, followed by a few weeks around the Pyrenees going from west to east. Anyone going that way is welcome to contact me.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
