Route advice from Nova Scotia to Argentina

Hi my husband and I have started planning for an overland journey in two years time. We live in Australia but will fly to Canada and start riding from there. Just wondering if there are others who have done this route and any suggestions you might offer.

Thanks

Hi there

My husband and I are currently on a similar trip. We started in Nova Scotia in May this year and will probably finish in Argentina / Chile approx March next year. We're in Antigua in Guatemala at the moment taking Spanish lessons and enjoying some time off the bike - really relaxing town to stay for a while.

You can find info on our blog about the places we've visited so far - hopefully it might help you plan some places you want to visit.

South of where your heading in the states i can suggest:

you should follow the national scenic byways, you can get maps of them pretty easy

my favourites were the Appalacian mountains blue ridge parkway through virginia, natchez trail parkway in mississippi.

I also liked mammoth caves, graceland, Austin for a good party, Lafayette and New Orleans in the south.

Also sweet rides through the rockies in Wyoming, Montana, Colorado .

Utah all over is amazing if your heading that far west.

Mesa Verde and the Petrified National Forest are scenic too around four corners.

have fun
