Northern California to Somewhere In Mexico? Baja?

Hello,

Looking to feel out a Cali to Mexico run, Baja, some time at the start of the new year. Obtained a small 200cc bike, but still want to make the ride and enjoy what it has to offer. Anyone been before or wanting to make this trip?

I'm heading down into Mexico on a Husaberg FE570 After New years. Love to share the trail! Thanking to go down Baja or possibly mainland No real plans. Staying off the highways and maybe doing a little bit of camping from time to time is my plan

Hit me up on Instagram and let's connect further down the trail

I knew I made a partial mistake. I had a Husa FE650 that I sold to get this bike. Had a feeling that it could be a great dual sport bike. Was concerned about find parts so I sold it to get this bike. I think I will have to get a dual sport to join you on this journey maybe.... or it will be a great story.

Ooooooo man! The unicorn that got away. I spent the last 3 years RTW on a fairly rare BMW X-Challenge 650... I find it's always best to Ride the bike that makes you smile... Not necessarily the one that makes the most sense on paper with parts or logistics blah blah blah I could be wrong but this is what has worked for me in the past

The smaller the bike the bigger the adventure but there's a lot to be said for some decent suspension brakes and power

Three's company?

Hey all! I might be keen to join you - I'm from Berkeley, but quit my job to ride round the world. I'm currently in Greece, with Turkey and Georgia on the docket (Nate, I've been following your adventures there on IG ) but am going to put that on hold until spring. So I'm planning to come back to the bay in January, grab my F800GS from storage and head south of the border. Super flexible on timing, but mid to late January seems probable. Seems like it could align! I'll message you on IG as well Nate, maybe we can do a group thread there. My handle is @_moto_photo_

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
