Raytheon Company - U S Defense Contractor

Recently there has been mainstream news coverage regarding Raytheon Company using "social networking " web sites to construct a "profile" of anyone who posts on "social networking " web sites. I am wondering if H U would be considered a "social networking" web site and if the opinions expressed here might contribute to a "profile" created by U S defense contractor Raytheon Company?

I have personal observations that the "profiles" created by Raytheon and others are plugged into what are labeled the Threat Fusion Centers located throughout the USA. The purpose of these is unknown to me.

If anyone has anything to add, that might be beneficial to those of us who post here and on other "social" networks, please contribute to this thread.

In addition, it might be wise to discontinue posting opinions that might be interpreted as encouraging anything illegal.

The data is used as much for marketing as anything to do with the CIA. This site is tagged as motorcycle related and if you come here (no need to post) your IP address will find it's way onto various registers which will be sold to advertising companies. You will find yourself looking at motorcycle related adverts when you go on youtube.

The amount of data is massive, so while they might be able to profile every single person on the internet they could never read all the profiles. The profiles have to be filtered like any other data by keywords. If you post often enough on websites related to subjects the government is interested in your profile might eventually get read by a human. Until then nothing will happen.

The latest info I have been offered is employees internet activities. Switch from HUBB to LINKDIN before you ask for a pay rise and your boss might think you are about to quit!

There is a programe called Ghost something that hides you, although I'm betting the CIA amatuers can call someone at Amazon and find a way round that too.

If you can google your own real name and find real information about yourself I'd worry.

If people start being afraid of what they are talking about in public, you will soon realise living in a dictatorship or worth finding your self in the future of 1984, and in that case the so called "system" has succeeded, erosion of freedom.
Calling things illegal is always the 1st step of mind control... is your thinking illegal if using your own mind and opinions ?

Luckily and yes still available and heavily growing, well use a free OS, cover your ass with Squid, Privoxy, and TOR for a start, only mail with PGP and Tor-mail , dive in to the World-wild-wobble with several addons like Ghostery, NoScript, Addblock, Facebook blocker, HTTPS-Everywhere, OptimizeGoogle, RequestPolicy, and various other tracking squashing and cookies crumbling tools.
Additional use Prepay phone cards registered with names you pick out of the public phone book.

show some spine and civil courage, hind out what is wrong in this world, and point out the truth.... something the so called "system" always tries to silence the truth first.
If things start out with scared voices well bad things are to follow, just resist the restrictions, like a rat, don't be anxious, but push it to the limit.

Just think of it as, that a restricted system doesn't fears more than public uproar and free thinking individuals.
Just study every days but resent history...

What do you think what the British MoD study came up with as the result of future threats to the actual running system a few years back ?

well the result is not any war or nasty aliens invading or blowing up the Queens herbs garden or such but what you have seen in the so called Arabic-spring movements and started developing non lethal weapons and vast control mechanism against there own population, you can read about in the news every day if you are awake, able to count x+y=3...
actually this mechanism are introduced long before things start to run bad... well if things run bad until shit hitting the fan, everything is in place and called legal action against illegal behaviour, written in to law by than.... do you want to let it happened just by staying mouth shut ?

Even if the HU is not actually considered as threatened social network (which it technical is for sure) because it's a place where like minded folks are talking about things without being mind controlled... and therefore may plot for an uproar.... self censorship by individuals is the best way for any system to keep things under the carpet... do you fancy that... I don't...

My club is playing a game on Facebook to confuse all the targeted marketing. We've all altered our profiles to say we live in various parts of the world. I logged as a Russian ex-pat living in Slovenia, it took 5 days for the ads to change accordingly. One lad "moved" to Poland and his spam e-mails for viagra and penis extensions dried up in a week. Our Pyongyang "resident" receives no adds whatsoever. It's all a bit juvenile I know but it's our little attempt to screw up Big Brother.

I'm not even on Facebook but I still get the Viagra and penis extension emails. Might come in handy though if I ever click on the advert for "Rebecca" on the mature dating site advert that keeps popping up - she only lived three miles away apparently. I'm sure I must have seen her in Sainsbury's.

Survival - On the Road

In June and July 2013 "The Guardian" published information provided by Edward Snowden that began an ongoing saga of international flight and intrigue.

Months prior to the release of Snowden's documents I posted this thread with main stream news coverage regarding defense contractor Raytheon. Snowden had worked for the U S government and a defense contractor Boos Allen Hamilton.

Thanks for a your very informative comments. Any comments relative to those of us who tour internationally and/or are expats, especially comments that might help us understand and adjust to the world according to Snowden are very welcome.

My prediction is that our ranks will swell as the squeeze on personal liberties tightens.... your thoughts?

Post Script: I recalled a fictional character in Joseph Heller's book "Catch 22," named Snowden. Has anyone else been realized that possible connection/?

More on Raytheon U S defense contractor

Long before defense contractor Booz Allen/NSA whistle blower Snowden validated NSA unconstitutional snooping, I posted on Feb 13, 2013 that Raytheon was engaged in same. Raytheon scooped up data from social media sites and continues to scoop.

Now, it is mainstream news that Raytheon - manufacturer of Tomahawk
missile is one of the three largest contributors to congressional campaigns, the other two 3 million dollar contributors are Boeing, Lockeed Martin - also manufacturers of missiles and war planes.

Apparently, my opinion, the US using these manufacturers to provide armaments to Syrian "rebels" known as the opposition is directly related to the rise in stock prices for Raytheon and the continued employment of thousands of people who would be dismissed if not for continued conflict for which the U S provided armaments.

Just as Snowden validated my original February 13, 2013 post on this thread re NSA/contractor snooping, the fact that other military contractors, Raytheon, Boeing, Lockeed Martin, being the largest contributors to Congressional campaigns will soon be another deciding factor in future elections, and soon be mainstream news.......

What does this mean to us of the HUBB... and what we can do to stop the seemingly unstoppable conflicts in the Middle East so that we can once again ride there in peace and become friends with middle eastern peoples, is a topic I hope those of you with ideas will contribute here.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
