Wondering what a hand signal was all about

Hi folks,

I got a strange hand signal that I'd never seen before, and I'm still puzzled about it. It was a from a guy riding a bike with a sidecar who pased me slowly in heavy traffic. I drive a Unimog camper, and the exaust exits the side of the truck between the front and read wheels, on the left of the truck.

Once he got by, he turned to look at me (we were stopped at a light), held his nose to indicate a bad stink while looking at me I shrugged my shoulders to indicate I had no idea what he was on about, he flipped me the finger and buggered off.

I check all round the back of the truck, no leaky toilets or smelly water so the only thing I could think of was the exaust.

or was he just a space kadett?

Just wondering what the heck was going on?

Merv.

What country was this, what fuel were you running?

One thing I noticed in Morocco was very high levels of sulphur in the juice, it smelt bad going in so probably stank out the back.

There's probably a few reasons he might have got a lungful of something but as for flipping the finger he might just be an arsehole....

fumes

If your uni is a diesel I would say its running rich.Have it emmistions checked. There's nothing worse than following a vehicle that's belching foul smelling smoke. He was probably expecting you to talk to him, when you shrugged he must have thought you were saying I don't care! Just a misunderstanding.

Hmmm, it's over 25 years old, and I will not pretend there is no smoke, but definitely not a cloud of it. As it never happened before, or since, I've pretty much forgotten about it.

And I've never been to asda. Yet :-)
