A Contact in Moyale Kenya

On arriving in Moyale Kenya , I was greeted by one of the staff of the Al - Yusra hotel , a wonderful guy by the name of Alisaud , Ali for short . He was tremendous and helpful beyond the call of duty , helped me sort out the scooter , offered to take me around town to show me were the ATM was , organised a special room for my luggage , a place to clean out the scooters filters , he was always on hand to help with any thing I needed , even to the point of organising me a money changer to come to the hotel to exchange my dollars to Birr , be it a a slightly reduced rate before crossing into Ethiopia . Ali made Moyale a dream stop for me . I asked him if he would mind helping other traveller's and could I post his details on HU , he agreed . Ali never once asked for payment or even hinted at it . I would ask that if you contact Ali , that if you use his services to assist you that you do offer some kind of payment in return , he will probably try and turn it down , just make sure he does take it , he is a valuable guy to have your back in that border town. So if you are caught in no mans land or need help anywhere between Isiolo and Moyale give him a call maybe he can help.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
