Probability of getting tires fitted to a ST1100 while in Morocco

Hello All:

I visited Morocco last spring, rode around quite a bit, and thoroughly enjoyed the country. I plan to return again in mid April this year.

I ride a Honda ST1100 ABS. Chances are I might need to have new tires fitted while I am in Morocco. Does anyone know if there would be any difficulty involved in getting a pair of Metzeler Z6 tires for a ST1100 in Morocco?

I would appreciate any advice about Honda dealers (service centers) in Morocco.

Thanks,
Michael

I received your PM and sent you a reply.
Let me know if you are in the area so we could meet.

Why not do it in Spain, either on the way there or on the way back?? Just a thought

Hi Chris:

I plan to take the ferry from Genoa to Tangier Med, that is why it's not possible to get it done in Spain on the way there. Spain on the way back is a possibility, though.

Greg sent me a PM and has advised me that the Honda dealer in Casablanca has the tires I need in stock, which is great news.

I'm guessing that's Univers Motors, can you confirm. It's best this sort of information is *shared* on a forum rather than sent by PM. Thanks.

The other alternative would be Moto Plus in Casablanca who hold a massive stock of tyres, see Moto Plus for bike spares in Morocco

Hi Tim:

The facility that Greg recommended was Moto Plus. Thank you, though, for mentioning Univers Motors as another alternative.

I do agree with you that it is best to share the information in the public forum - the conversation only drifted off into PM because there were other, non-public matters being discussed. It was not the intention of either of us to not share the information about the maintenance facilities.

Hi Tim,
I actually recommended Moto Plus and Moto Expert. Honda dealer does not have tires on stock and they are not the best option for fitting / repairs.
I do not have a phone contact to Moto Plus so I requested a pricing from Moro Expert (Aboulkacim) who confirmed availability and a price of 3800 dhs for the set. That's where I usually buy my tires (or Moto Plus if I swing by) for the BM as they have good prices + 10% discount for returning customers. They do the fitting right away.
Although I used to get tires there for my Husky 501, the last time out I got a pair from Peter in Ouarzazate who sells Motoz tires which are fantastic both in terms of composition and durability for off-road use and nearly the same price as a set of Michelins for twice the mileage in use.
Cheers,
Greg
