This stuff is great if you can get hold of it...

www.safetyseal.se

Just a piece of 'sticky string' you push into the hole with a screwdriver or one of those tyre plug tools.

Up and running in 5 mins, works on everything tubeless from R1s to BMWs.

Actually, I could do with some more.

That type of repair is illegal in Canada on everything except Trailer Tires. They are definately not meant to be use on a high performance tire that may be brought up to 200km/h+.

If I used it on a bike it would only be short term. Once I got to my motel I would pull it out and patch the tire from the inside. There is a "newer" style patch that has a plug built onto it. You repair the tire the same way as with a normal patch except you pull the plug through from the inside and cut off the excess.

Keep in mind that NO tire companies endorse the repair of motorcycle tires in any way.

Cheers, Steve

The reason why most tyre companies do not endorse the use of plugs etc, is simply that the are playing upon our pyschological sense of vulnerability on a motorcycle in order to make us but new tyres as often as possible.
Then again I might just be a cynical b*****ks.
