Ortlieb Pannier Bags?

Hi All,

I'm looking at buying a set of Ortlieb pannier bags (Side Bag w/QLR2 System) the kind which clip onto a side rack. Has anyone had experience with these?

http://www.ortliebusa.com/cartgenie/...p?pid=58&cid=2

They look kind of small in the photo and the plastic clips look a bit flimsy. If anyone has a proper photo of one on a bike can you post it?

Cheers,

Peter

Ortlieb bags

For general purpose they work well. The mounting brackets fit most all racks, due to the movable mounts. In cold conditions with rough riding the mounting hooks may crack or break completely. Also, I'm not sure about the new ones, but the old ones had no heat shield, so damage may occur depending on how much clearance there is between the bag and exhaust pipe.

Talking Ortlieb luggage

Hi , I use many different saddle bag or cases and the ortlieb are really good ,very light and waterproof , I used a pair for few month and even after days of rain they never let me down. now regarding the mounting stay away for the clip on as they will break at the first dish, regarding the size it all depend on how much crap you want to carry but for me they work well, if you buy them buy a repair kit with you may need it.After few drop at high speed on sand I did use it easy enough and your back on the road..
