insulated box
I wish I had thought of this, but found it on the web. I attached an insulated cooler to my DRZ 400. It was simple. I bought one of the cheap soft case coolers with a removeable plastic liner. I then took a piece of stainless steel about 6"x4" and drilled two holes that are already drilled into my rear fender. I removed the plastic liner, placed the drilled piece of metal inside, then punched holes through the insulation for bolts. After bolting down I put cardboard on top of the bolts to prevent rattiling, and replaced the plastic liner. Its great. Throw in a frozen water bottle and let it slowley thaw. After a couple of hours you have ice cold water to drink. It is also big enough to carry other items as well. It not the most beautiful thing in the world, but it is practicle.
