Fitting touratech pannier rack to Africa Twin

Has anyone fitted the touratech pannier rack to an Africa RD07? I had a few problems. Specifically:

- The rear mounting lugs.Looks like they should attach to the indicator mount.Does it go behind or in front of the frame and with/without rubber washer?

- There are two spacers included in the fitting kit. Looks like these fit under the rack mount bolt to lift the side panel clear? or do these go straight on?

- Do the other mount points fit on top of the mudguard and the rack mount bolts go through?

Any help is appreciated! Ive ended up with the rear support rail coming up short each side so Ive got it wrong! Doh! so much for the independant traveller........

If you don't get any joy in fitting them flush, give ernie a ring at Overland solutions who will tailor them to fit properly. He's built racks for an Africa Twin but not sure what model. I'm sure he had to cut away part of the side panels to make them flush.

Just in case you haven't sorted it already...

It's not very clear, but the pannier frame mounting points at the indicators should be inside the bike's subframe. Remove the bolt holding the indicator. Use a new bolt (I can't remember if this was in the kit) from the *inside*, that goes through the pannier frame, through the nut welded to the subframe, then through the indicator mount. Use a new nut on the outside to secure the indicator.

The other four mounting points under the seat and rack are quite simple. Remove the seat and rack, position the pannier frame on the bike (I usually loosely fit the footrest bolts), and then use the supplied longer bolts. The spacers are for the rear mounts of the plastic rack. They effectively level the rack due to sandwiching the pannier frame under the front mounts of the rack.
