CSC Baja Ride

When we introduced the CSC RX3 in the US last year, we took 15 of our riders on a 1700 mile ride through Baja. We are going to do the same thing again during the 3rd week of March. We selected that time because that's when the whales will be in town and when it fits our schedule. We're not charging anything for the tour; you'll have to pay your lodging, meals, and gasoline (and you'll have to have an RX3). We are going to have 10 spots available and the first two are taken already, so if you want to ride with us please let us know (info@cscmotorcycles.com).

CSC RX-3 ... What's That?

What or Who are CSC? RX-3? I assume it's a bike, trike, ATV or scooter of some kind?

EDIT:
Just googled you guys, I see your a dealer! Nice looking bike. Lots of potential!

I believe I've seen this same bike sold under various brand names here in USA, UK, Europe, Asia and elsewhere. Do you know the other brand names it is sold under?

Can you tell us the name of the main Chinese company that manufactures this bike? (not regional names, but actual principal company of manufacture)
Seems many Chinese companies share engines, parts, then make their own chassis. So, what's the "story" on CSC.
I doubt very few readers here ever heard of them.

I've love to read independent, non biased owner reviews about this bike.
Maybe you can link to some? Has ANY USA magazine reviewed this bike?
Link?

What about a dealer network? Warranty? Spare parts?

I know many Hubb readers are interested in this class of bike, so more background would be helpful!

CSC is the North American importer of the Zongshen RX3. The RX3 is a 250cc motorcycle.

The RX3 is sold in other countries under the respective importers' names. CSC is the only organization importing it to North America. It is manufactured by Zongshen, the largest motorcycle manufacturer in China. Zongshen also builds parts for Harley-Davidson, Piaggio, and most other brands.

Seems many Chinese companies share engines, parts, then make their own chassis. So, what's the "story" on CSC. I doubt very few readers here ever heard of them.

The story on CSC is best explained here:

5000 Miles At 8000 RPM: Joe Berk: 9781517355357: Amazon.com: Books

I know the author of the book above reasonably well. He's a bit of a handful, but if you can get past that, I hear the book is a good read.

I've love to read independent, non biased owner reviews about this bike.

There are a few more out there, all similarly positive. Motorcyclist magazine ran a story on the RX3 a month or so ago, but it is not online. That magazine is also doing a story on the recent CSC 5000-mile Western America Adventure Ride.

What about a dealer network? Warranty? Spare parts? I know many Hubb readers are interested in this class of bike, so more background would be helpful!

CSC does not sell through dealers for many reasons (all explained in the book). The RX3 sells for $3495 with the luggage, the guards, and the windshield, and the company ships direct to your location. The RX3 has a 2-year, unlimited mileage warranty. CSC stocks all of the parts required for this motorcycle (literally 100% of the parts, including all engine internal parts).

I was at the HU meeting this past weekend in Mariposa. Good times. I was one of the presenters.

Please let me know if you have additional questions either here on the board or at jberk@cscmotorcycles.com.

There are quite a few owners discussing the RX3 here as well-- Adventure Bikes - ChinaRiders Forums

Member 'Spudrider' has been a Zongshen guru for several years, having racked up over 60k miles on his old Zong air-cooled endure bike. He took the plunge on a new Zongshen RX3 via CSC to continue his 'project' (actually a new project)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
