Rally Around the World is a solo, around-the-world motorcycle ride to support the Rally Foundation’s mission of empowering volunteers to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research.
In 2002, as a testicular cancer survivor, and in celebration of his 10thanniversary of being cancer-free, Brad Thompson made a solo bicycle trek from San Diego, CA to St. Augustine, FL covering 3000 miles in 35 days raising funds for cancer research.
Rally Around the World will mark his upcoming 20th anniversary, reaching far beyond the personal challenge he will face on an around-the world motorcycle ride.
ROUTE - departs Nashville, TN on July 28, then ride to Anchorage, Alaska. From Anchorage air-freight motorcycle and gear to Seoul, South Korea, then take a ferry up to Vladivostok, Russia. From there, the plan is to follow the Trans-Siberian Railway across Russia, into Latvia & Lithuania, then Poland, Germany, Belgium and France. Will ferry across the English Channel and fly from London to Montreal, Quebec. From there, the route will run south and return to Nashville on September 14 and just in time to celebrate National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Rally Foundation’s NASH BASH on September 29th as part of a homecoming. The entire trip will be about 14,000 road miles and a complete circumnavigation of the world of 25,000 miles.
NOTE: Brad is personally funding this around-the-world motorcycle ride. Therefore, you can be assured every dollar you donate will go directly to Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research. For every dollar Rally receives, 93 cents goes to support its mission, according to independently audited financials
