XT600E generator cover bolt?

Hello,

Just traded my old Transalp for a newer Yamaha 2003 XT600E and am very pleased with myself. Great fun bike that makes the Transalp feel rather sluggish in comparison.

I have a quick question regarding a missing bolt? on the left hand side of the bike that I think sits on the generator cover. On my bike (on a slightly raised thread) there is no bolt and I was wondering whether there should be one. Looking on Google Images at similar XT600Es I think I have seen others without it too, although in the parts catalogue there does seem to be a bolt (Part Number: 91317-06025) that will fit this particular raised thread on the generator cover.Mmmmmm?

Can anyone tell me what their bike has and offer some advice on whether I need to get this bolt?

Thank you,
Biggy

I think that bolt hole is used to mount the clamp on the clutch cable on the earlier XTs.
