Where to source Metric fastners in UK?

Hello Folks,

I'm here in Canada. Despite Canada being officially metric my entire life, I am having a horrible time sourcing QUALITY metric bits and bobs over here. What an sad state of affairs.

I've basically exhausted all avenues in acquiring the bits needed for my XT600 rebuild in N. Am.

Primarily I'm looking for M6 cap screws (allan heads) X 1.0(thread pitch) in 10.9 or 12.9 grade in BZP(bright zink plated) or the stock greenish colour(unknown coating) finnish.

Are there any reputable internet retailers in the UK that could supply these in varrying lengths & small quantities.

I have been able to source similar in 8.8 grade but 10.9 or 12.9 is prefered.

Many thanks for your input.

Pawlie

Namrik

You could give this lot a go:
NAMRICK :
I've used them before when rebuilding car suspension - just measured and counted up what I thought would be seized and got a bespoke kit for my Panda (80's Fiat? That'd be everything then). Pretty quick delivery in the UK - 2 days I think. They seem to do pretty much everything! There's a link to the allen key section on the right of the home page.

Why not buy them from your local Yamaha dealer. The greenish colour is a standard Yamaha coating - my RD400 standard casing screws are all green but most people swopped them to S/S over the years.

HVC Cycles in the US may be able to help. I also found this firm in Vancover:

Fuller Metric Parts Ltd. | Metric Fastener and Inch Socket Product Specialists

Top quality in the UK are INOX. You would have to contact them to see if they will post to Canada. Lovely hand polished S/S

Hello,

Many thanks for the replys. I will check them out.

Foggy, Can't use stock due to big $$$$, Fuller only deals in huge order quantities for manufacturing. Not at all interested in filling an order of less than 100 peices for an individual. Thanks again for your other suggestions. I'll follow up on them. RD400 very cool machine!

Any other places I should check out?

Cheers,

Pawlie
