WANTED: Acerbis Tank

I've got a 1990 XT600E that I've always wanted an Acerbis tank for, but I've never wanted to wait the ~3 months it takes to get one from Italy.

So, if anyone has one they're willing to part with, I'd really like to buy it. Preferably in the US, but I'd consider shipping from anywhere if need be.

Anyone?

I'd also consider another stock XT tank. I'm a metal worker by trade, Tenere-ing a stock tank is definitely an option.

Tank

I've got an absolutely brand new tank of an XT600e 2002 that you could buy

Black and it comes with the plastic shrouds at the front too

No idea how expensive it would be to ship to the states though

Also got a brand new, standard OE complete exhaust system if you want one

Hmm, I'd almost rather have something that's been dropped so I wouldn't feel so bad chopping up a nice, new gas tank.

Would it fit a 1990?

That's about 350 USD, that's a little expensive for me. I'd still like a used one, or another stock tank that I can modify.

You don't know what expensive is until you've lived in Denmark.

We have 150% (yes) tax to get plates on our bikes.

I bought a 5year old +50.000km xt600 for 6000$ and that was kinda cheap.

Hope you get what you seek, sorry for the OT =)

But please, keep us updated on your project.

In America some of us lie to pay less than the 10% or so to get tags on our bikes.

And I bought my 15 year old XT600 with 7900km for $1800 and I think I kinda got screwed.

Hi there. First post and I'm on the take already!

We're also looking for 2xlarger tanks for XT's 2003 models.
I've been trawling ebay for months, to avoid having to pay around £200. I see lots of tanks for 3tbs and earlier (especially Germany) but not 4pts, Time is getting short as we plan to travel at the end of July.

It sounds as though you might decide on an older tank, Micah, if so, can I muscle in on your thread? If okay with Micah, Dave, and you are still thinking of selling, could you post details? What size tank, do you still have the fittings, how much do you want for it?

Thanks very much,
Bev

Yeah, no problem. I was reading somewhere else that someone accidentally bought a post-1995 tank for their 3TB and that it wasn't going to work.

I'm still looking for a 3TB 1990-95 XTE tank...

Thanks for the feedback about the tanks, I think you're right, but only from looking at pictures online, which can be deceiving. I'd be really happy to here for certain from anyone who knows about this, though.

Okay, so this might suit you, then:
großer Acerbis Tank Yamaha XT 600 3TB schwarz on eBay, also Tanks Tankteile, Markenspezifische Teile, Motorrad- Kraftradteile, Auto Motorrad Teile (end time 15-May-09 13:59:06 BST)

There's also an older, 20litre one needing bits:
20l Acerbis-Tank für XT600 3TB/3UW bei eBay.de: Markenspezifische Teile (endet 13.05.09 20:18:52 MESZ)

I've only got school german, so i use Yahoo! Babel Fish - Text Translation and Web Page Translation for help with translations.

Good luck!

I like the Brazilian tank, I guess I need a post-1997 seat to use it though?

Thanks very much. The gilimoto tanks look great and that price is very attractive. I just need some more details at the mo', especially shipping. I'm not sure I'm reading the site correctly - you ask them to email you about availability and go from there?
