Stolen Yamaha Tenere Xt600-blue- In Kent

24-01-2009

BLUE YAMAHA TENERE 1987 model

Some F***ing Pikeys stole my beloved (and over insured) bike tonight at 20:45-21:00 hrs whilst I was in my house

The rear number plate was less than 3 inches from my front door (I had the battery on trickle charge)

So if you come across any 2nd hand parts for a 1VJ please post it here and send me a message as well.

As this bike has given me some great memories and was set to become a TravelBug itself (geocaching - anorak type game) I am particularly nauseated. I had major plans this summer which will need reviewing, racks etc etc. Ahhh bollocks

Its a Blue 23 liter'd model, yellow fork gaiters, Tank had some hastily done paint retouching. rack on the back, and a Garmin Etrex GPS mount on the handle bars. I also made my own wind shield which was fantastic. again Ahhh Bollocks.

Bastards bastards bastards.

On the bright side the Front sprocket was welded to the output shaft, and the rear wheel adjusters were on the last but one setting. Hee hee hee.
So it would have had to have been stripped for spares and even that would have meant extra effort, so will probably be dumped somewhere.

Interestingly I had a Maiko bend set of handle bars which resulted in a higher than normal set of handle bars and was a joy to ride, either standing up, or seated.

Absolutely gutted, hope that the Pikey trash scum come a cropper.

Apologies for those sensitive to violent language.

Graham

Sorry about your bike
If it was not locked kids may have just wheeled it away and with a flat battery they may not be able to start it.
Have a good look around your area they may have hidden it some where
Put up some posters with a contact no offering a small reward £50 or so some one may know where it is.
If it was pikeys they may phone asking for more money.
As you know the bike is worth alot more to you then it is to some one to break up and sell for spares.
The people who took the bike probadly think it an old Yamaha trail bike which wont be worth alot so may just dump it or burn it so get out with some posters.
A friend got his stolen TTR back like this
Good luck

Good luck with finding your bike!

And geocaching isn't anoraky like train spotting - I am a geocacher and disassociate myself with them completely!!!

Whereabouts in Kent has it gone missing from? I travel around mid-kent daily, so you never know what might be spotted?

Hi
Do you have any pictures of the bike you could post up?
I can see a box with a small X in your first post so may be its just my computer that cant see the pic.

Same here - perhaps repost the pic again?

I know how you feel. Sorry to hear the bad news and hope the bast**ds get caught.

A chassis number would be good to as there are others like me who are M/C mot inspectors, who look out for stolen bikes.

Thanks Guys

Really appreciate the response, kind of supportive.

Tenere Tom, Geocaching is the ultimate Anorak activity. In an evil twist of fate my magnetic TravelBag arrived today, I was about to make the bike a Geocache.

CHASSIS NUMBER 1VJ011503
ENGINE NUMBER 1VJ011503
REGISTRATION D323 JMK

Stolen from Rochester

If seen riding around most obvious feature is the very nice perspex screen, rising about 12 inches above the headlight cowl, tapered to 4 inches wide, and curled around at the sides.

This is unmistakeable.

Uploading a picture is a hell of a mission on this site, I have no space left.

Regards Graham
