My airbox sux.

I opened the airbox today to clean the filter (k&n)again after
exactly 2 weeks(is that a long time?)and was horrified by what i saw.
The "Dirty" side of the airbox had dust, leaves, small brunches and a womans
hair(not mine!) The filter had a thick layer of dyed oil mixed with dust
and the "clean" side of the airbox was not clean at all.it had dust, engine oil
and a handfull of small small gravel.
I now think the airbox is small, insufficient, misslocated and responsible for
the death of many innocent xt engines.
I dont want my engine to suffer from all that dirt that makes it through
but i also dont want to spend the rest of my weekends cleaning air filters
any sugestions?
