Hello to all you very lovely helpful yamaha xt owners has anyone got any good ideas of the best way to convert my speedo to mph (1vj model) i have seen actual converters that can be fitted to your speedo cable or can you get stickers to put on your speedo or any other good suggestions please.

Hi,

I had some new dial faces made up by these people: Redial UK - Suppliers of replacement speedometer faces and digital conversions, kplh to mph
As you can see in the attached photo, I had a bit of "fun" with colours and logo's!

Ciao,
Geoff

My old Tenere came with a converter that basically changes the Kph to Mph on the dial.
It fits in between the cable and the speedo. I'm sure these are available on a popular auction site!!!

M&P have both mechanical and electrical converters. Not too much money, although I can't remember exactly. I can find the part numbers if you're stuck.

its a little gearbox that goes on the cable at the front wheel and alters the drive ratio so the speedo reads mph. they work fine, i think you have to get the bottom mounting one for the XT
