I need a little help

Hey guys!

Could anyone please tell me where the negative battery cable attaches to?
I can't remember
One attaches to the battery and the other end goes where?

Also, what is the diameter of the battery cables? 8mm or 10mm??
both red and black the same diameter I suppose, right?

Today, when I wake up, I'm going to a car shop/garage and have build me two battery cables to fit on my XT so I really need to know.. :\

I need one small(10centimeters long) to connect the battery pos to the starter solenoid and a longer one to connect from the solenoid to the e-start motor...

I really need your input on this one...

Thanks!
Vando

P.S.: My bike is the 1990 XT600E

P.P.S.: It's almost 6am and I still can't sleep... damn insomnias... :\
