front end for 34L

Just acquired a well bruised '84 tenere with a caved in front end. I have access to a set of forks from an '88 model (3AJ?).
Anyone know if the two are compatible?
Also the tank is punctured and dented. I live in Nijmegen NL, anyone know someone who could repair the Tank situated reasonably close by?
