frame welding
My oil cooler bracket needs a spot of rewelding - what do I need to disconnect to avoid cooking anything. Battery I would anyway..anything else?

Just the battery will do. I've had various odd welding jobs done on my Ten over the years with just the battery disconnected with no problems.

If you can get hold of a surge protector,it'll protect everything without disconnecting the battery.It clips onto the pos and neg terminals of the battery and will even protect ABS and engine management ECU's.Most motor factors should stock them.

I would be on the safe side and disconnect the battery, CDI and reg/rec. These last two are easily accessed by removing the LHS side cover - just disconnect the 10 or so leads.
