1984 xt600 service manual needed

I have been searching for a free service manual .pdf for my 1984 xt600.
Only can find 1990 yamaha xt600 A/AC .pdf this is different then my bike it has electric start and few other things I noticed are different.
I have to take my side cover off due to kickstart grinding problem and was hoping to find a manual with list of parts and process of remove and install.
thanks

check some online parts supplier such as Yamaha of Troy Yamaha Parts and Accessories - 20% Discount on Yamaha OEM Parts, 10% Discount on Aftermarket Parts Motorcycle Parts, Motorcycle Accessories – BikeBandit.com as they should have the parts diagrams!

this is a good link to bikebandit for the 1984 XT600L:
1984 Yamaha XT600L OEM Parts, 1984 Yamaha XT600L OEM Replacement Parts - BikeBandit.com

As for the torque for nuts and stuff, engine of the XT-E is basically the same so you could probably use the same torques on the workshop manual you got.. but someone please correct me as I'm not very familiar with the pre 1990 engine...?

I've personally assembled a kickstart onto my 1990 XT600E and everything works great with no problem!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
