Don't. I've checked them several times and have never had to adjust them. Btw I have now done about 80.000 km. and have just today replaced the cam chain.

Hi futronix,
my XTZ 660 is around 130.000 km and now is prepared for reboring for the first time! Dont spend time researcing checking valves, i cannot recall that adjusting needed, just checking. Anyway, obtain yourselves Repair manual from Bucheli Verlag ( code 5204 ), it is covered almost everything inside what you have to know about your Tenere. Unfortunately, manual is available only in german language, not sure that could help you usefully.
Regards,
AnteK

since this is all the XTZ'ers in one place - I just thought i'd let you know I've finally got mine back on the road....

After much grunting and groaning about poor starting - it turned out to be a stuck Choke - the brass needle part was stuck in the carb housing - took a drilling out job then popped a new one in.... £5 for drilling it out then £30 for the a new choke assembly - brilliant...

Now it's just a case of getting used to how much choke to use on cold/wet or warm/dry or cold/dry or warm/wet days....

Yipppeeee!!!!!

Tony.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
