1990 xt600-hotwiring-no its not stolen

it was actually stolen from me and cops found it 6 months later...anyway when i put the red and brown wires together the headlight comes on....ive got the manual and ive done the ohms testing on the primary and secondary coils and spark wire....and all meet specifications...yet i still am not getting spark....there are alot of plugs and wires unplugged or dangling that go to turn signals horn etc...could they have something to do with no spark...and yes the battery is good ....though after jumping the starter a few times...i have to recharge it...but it turns the starter very well for a couple of min....sigh...

The wiring diags are in GERMAN .........BUT easy to follow as its schematic and Im sure you can use Altavista Babel Fish langiage translator on the www if you get stuck for what a ' bremslicht' (spelling?) is......

Drop me an email and I will send em tonight.

You say you have the manual - if it is the service manual all the electrical troubleshooting and wiring diagrams are in chapter 7 - page 7-21 in particular. There are some safety interlock circuits involving the clutch, side stand, neutral position sensor in the transmission, "run/kill" handlebar switch and ignition switch that all need to be working properly (or correctly bypassed) in order to both allow the starter motor to run and ignition to fire.
