LPG Kit to bikes
In order to increase fuel capacity for extended mileage for an international trip, a friend suggested adding of a LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) kit to the bike. Any suggestions?

Some have experimented with it in the past, even in the racing - LPG powered boxer:
![]() But one of the biggest prob with 2 wheeled vehicles are the high-pressure gas tanks that can pose a serious security threat - you can't hide it inside the secure place between the frame as on the 4 or more wheeled car. The convert prodedure from petrol to LPG is relatively easy tho., but fiding a secure solution for the special gas tank can be complicated on a bike. In some countries finding LPG stations can be a bit hard too, but while some have LOADS of them. Last edited by Margus; 27 Apr 2008 at 09:43. |

It would be far far simpler to add extra petrol (gasoline) storage, I'm sure. There is quite a bit of extra plumbing and switching gear required to be able to change from LPG to petrol and back again for a start.
