bloody countrys
Hi grant and .. all ..I'm sure i did read somewhere ...that bikeing org's where trying to get us to have just a bike passport (stamped in and out of countrys)...i'm sure there are bikers out there.. in the legal proffesion ...and goverments ... that could surely push for this ... and get rid of this ..bond...and carnet rubbish ... and maybe open some doors for us ...after all we only want to see and visit these countrys ... and not sell our bikes .... our bikes are our lives ...our homes ..our best mate ...

It's news to me!
If you hear anything further, let me know - but don't hold your breath. While we as travellers have no - well, mostly no interest in selling our bikes in a foreign country, there's a LOT of people who make a LOT of money doing exactly that - and the countries lose a LOT of tax income as a result.Don't expect carnets to go away anytime soon. ------------------ Grant Johnson Seek, and ye shall find. ------------------------ One world, Two wheels. www.HorizonsUnlimited.com

I have to say that the Carnet's been responsible for me not travelling through Iran, Pakistan and India and instead going to countries that don't require one. I'll get round to it eventually I'm sure.
