Costa Rica Shipping

Hey all Central American explorers, I just wanted to take this opportunity to let you all know that we are here to help in anyway that we can. I am a long distance bike rider and now settled permanently in Costa Rica, having recently purchased a small hotel just off the Pan American Highway just north of San Ramon de Alajuela. This is a motorcycle friendly place where you can pop in say hi, fix a flat, order parts, stage gear call us if you need a trailer for a bike that protests and wishes to go no further on it's own power, use our workshop or just have a cup of coffee. I recently shipped five motorcycles back to Canada for a group that rode down here and have some great contacts for all your biking needs. Check out our place page at www.angelvalleybnb.com or our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Angel...86640514790708

Take care and ride safe
Gary

Nice looking place you have. it looks too expensive for our budget. Do you have any camping there or nearby? We hope to be in that area in September.

Camping at angel Valley

Hi Garry, thanks for your response and comment on the place, this is a work in progress having only owned it for a year and concentrated on the hotel remodel to date. Camping is something i am considering, I have enough land but have to build showers etc. I am sure we can arrange something by September or find something close by so you can still tinker here on the bikes or natter travel over coffee or a .

Costa Rica shipping

Being one of the five Canadians who recently enjoyed the hospitality, accommodation and food at Angel Valley B&B, I would like to recommend any dualsport rider passing through Costa Rica contact Gary.
Our group wanted to take a midway break on our trip down the Pan America highway. Requests for information from Costa Rica officials in Canada on required procedures went unanswered. Gary was able to provide details on how our bikes could remain in bonded storage for up to a year while we returned to Canada. In the end we decided to put the five bikes in a 20' container and ship them home to enjoy riding for the summer. We will ship them to Cartagena, Columbia for the next leg. Gary referred us to a broker, assisted in getting the bikes into bond, drove us to the airport then returned to San Jose with a dualsport friend a week later to load our bikes and see them on their way to Canada.
After the trip through unfamiliar Central America, it's repeated and challenging border crossings, 40 degree temperatures and continuous need to lookout for safety the Angel Valley B&B is a real dualsport rider oasis. I recommend it highly.

Costa Rica Shipping

Hi Peter

It was delightful having you all stay here, thanks for your kind words, on behalf of Gabriel and myself it was a pleasure helping with the shipping and loading of your bikes. I am sorry we did not do pizza's in the oven, I know you were all looking forward to home made pizza's but I am glad the smoked pork was a good substitute. That was a memorable evening on the patio and a lot of fun. I look forward to seeing you all again. I am keeeping track of your shipment and hope your bikes are back to you in a couple of weeks. Cheers for now Gary

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
