Shipping back to Heahrow any experiences?

Hi

we are shipping out of Khartoum back to Heathrow after an accident were my partner broke her hand. We are continuing on my bike 2up. The frate handling company in Heathrow are saying we must be there to sign for the bike. As we are not due back until September this may cause a slight problem. Any ideas appreciated.

Giles

Heh Giles

Hi Giles,
Pleased to hear you're carrying on.

I doubt that it's the same for bikes, but Lee has managed to send our gear from Cairo, "Used Personal Effect", with my name as the consignee on the Air Way Bill, and I'm picking it up tomorrow. This is only 80 KG of stuff though.

I m sure others will give you more info, but I would nt give up.

Best of luck, Hi to Caron.

Letter of authorization for 'someone' to act on your behalf ? Original to the 'someone' and a copy to the firm.

This might be a custom concern - importing the bike rather than returning the bike?

You'd best get it sorted... good luck

Use a freight forwarder - You won't pay much more than clearing it yourself, but you won't need to be there. Advanced forwarding recommended http://www.advanceforwarding.co.uk/ need a delivery address for bike though unless you want to pay storage. Hope that helps
