Smile Motortransport en opslag in Europa, Italië en Balkan
Beste Motorvrienden, wie kan ons helpen?

Wij zijn op zoek naar een transportbedrijf en goede opslag voor onze motorfietsen voor de volgende motorreizen;

Voor onze rondreis door de Balkan zijn we op zoek naar een transportbedrijf van Nederland naar Oostenrijk of naar Slovenië of Noord-Kroatië en later retour naar Nederland. En een goede/veilige opslag voor onze motoren.

Voor onze andere reis zoeken we een transportbedrijf die onze motoren van Nederland naar omgeving van Rome kan transporteren met ook hier een goede/veilige opslag voor onze motoren.

Vorige jaar hebben we de motoren al laten vervoeren van Nederland naar Noord-Italië door transportbedrijf Van Dijk uit Venray, dit was helemaal super geregeld. Alleen gaan die niet verder dan Mortara, vlak naast Milaan.

Het jaar ervoor hebben we onze motoren vanaf Nederland, laten transporteren door Nord-Cargo naar Malaga, ook dit was perfect geregeld door dit bedrijf.

We hebben zelf al best wat zitten zoeken, maar voor transport vanaf Nederland richting Kroatië en midden-Italië hebben we nog niks gevonden.

I can't suggest any specific company, but a bit of general advice/context. Moto-specific shipping companies tend to use mainline shipping companies and just buy space on a truck that regularly goes between major hubs/terminals. So they have a route they are confident about, they know the terminal on the other end has people who can offload and disassemble the transport box and store it until the return trip, communicate well with riders, etc. And most importantly - it's a reliable one-truck route, without forklifts shifting the transport boxes from one truck to another, forgetting some or running out of room, etc.

So if you want to transport your bikes to somewhere other than a known and tested terminal, you can certainly do that - but you would have to go to the trucking company directly (e.g. DSV in Europe), and say "how much to transport two stacked transport boxes of this size and weight to that particular small terminal of yours, oh and it's fragile cargo", and deal yourself with all the extra paperwork and hassle, and building your own transport boxes or hiring/buying professionally built ones.

my company does all of the services you are requesting, we are known in motorcycle global overland community.
We provide transport (in your case that would be land/truck freight), insurance for many geographies in Europe, Africa, Asia (we are insurance brokers), motorcycle/vehicle storage in our warehouse where we keep our fleets of bikes next to the clients bikes.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
