storing bike in Chile
Does anyone have any info on how and where to leave a bike in Chile for one year. I am shipping my bike to Chile in January 2002 and riding south to Ushuia and back. I would like to leave my bike in Chile from February 2002 until Jan 2003 when I would fly down, pick it up and continue riding to Venezuela. Any suggestions for storing in Chile?

This is difficult. Main problem is how long is your bike allowed to stay in Chile? I don't believe you can do one year, six months is probably maximum. I know some travellers have parked their bike in Bolivia for this reason.
Search the travellers stories and here on the HUBB for more info. This has been discussed, but no perfect answer - of course! Werner Zwick has done it, may be some info in his story pages. Good luck, and do let us know what you find out and how you do in the end! ------------------ Grant Johnson Share the Dream! at: www.HorizonsUnlimited.com
