Spelling mistake on Iranian visa

Hey
Justed picked up my Iranian visa and when I got home I saw they mispelled my name (on the bottom "barcode" part)..
I'm leaving in 10 days time by motorbike and still need another visa (turkmenistan) so cant afford to leave my passport again.. Anyone with a similar experience? I don't know if I should just go for it and pretend I never saw it.. Or go back to the embassy..

Thoughts?

A.

Well
To close the subjest and fyi; it appears (What an Iranian contact told me, not embassy though) that the spelling of my name in Iranian is diffferent..
So I should be ok.. Let's hope it really is like that..
Sorry for this.

If you can read Farsi script, you'll probably notice that your name sounds rather different, as it is transliterated by someone (or perhaps a machine) who may be unable to pronounce it correctly. On my five Iranian visas, I don't think my name has been spelt the same twice, and never does it read correctly in Farsi.

The machine readable strip at the bottom is then re-transliterated from Arabic to Latin alphabets, meaning it is unlikely to look the same. Not to worry.

The only things which have to match are your passport number, and the visa dates must match in the Persian / Western Calendars.

Maybe just for the record: it's exactly like said above and no problems at the border whatsoever.
Cheers

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
