Quick Carnet question
Hi, the basics, Qatar registered motorbike, riding to the UK via Saudi-UAE-Iran-Trukey-Balkans-Europe.
We need a carnet for Iran, which we can get issued here in Qatar. Question: Do we need to get the carnet stamped at every border, or just in to and out of Iran? (How does it work where there are no border officials between say Germany and Belgium etc?) Thanks in advance for any replies, Rob |

You don't have to use it for every country. The important thing is, if you get stamped into a country, make sure you get stamped out.
AFAIK, non-EU vehicles don't need anything for EU visits up to three months. See here: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...601#post332209 Just poke around the HUBB, there's alot of info on this.

See here: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...601#post332209 ************* Only Greece still asks for carnet for Turkish Riders even Turkey doesn't require a visa for them ..what a good neighbour we have here..was there 2 days ago again for 6 hours by transalp... Was welcomed by a hardrain ,in Xanti at the lights in front of the petrol station and was unable to buy some wearings at 2 pm on Friday. All shops were closed but cafes were full of people having their frappes happily... What a wonderful crisis is that!!!!!! God bless Germany.... Best Wishes zeki.

Thanks for the info, that's what I had hoped, it's a shame that Iran is the only place we are travelling through which needs a carnet, we have to lodge 10,000 GBP as security, ouch!
