Possible passport woes?
Planning trip down through East Africa, having discovered that Sue was right about not being to land a vehicle at any Egyptian ports from Southern Europe (see the relevant topic).
Now pretty much set on a ferry to Israel (Haifa) and then into Egypt. I know that there aren't any major difficulties in crossing from Israel into Egypt in the Sinai, but will I encounter problems later on when it comes to entering Sudan for example? Presumably the Israelis will stamp a separate piece of paper rather than the actual passport.(?) If not I could do the two passports thing. However what are the chances of the Sudanes noticing my point of entry into Egypt, putting 2+2 together and denying me entry? Any advice appreciated. Thanks Charlie |

They will give you a separate paper, if you ask. They also might give you a hard time about it (personal experience). But I don't know if that will work with the motorcycle. You need to be sure to check in advance. As for the other arab country scrutiny, it is totally dependent. Syria goes overboard, other countries are much more mellow. They choose to ignore it. But having two passports might make your life a lot easier. Good Luck
