I was in Thailand in June of this year. We entered enroute from Malaysia. We had a Canadian issued CDP. I hold a u.s passport and my mate a Malaysian passport. Upon entry at the Sedao border crossing, Thai officials did not want to stamp the carnet and insisted it was not required. We had a major snag (accident) in Bangkok. As it turned out, the CDP was the main document which allowed us to freight the bike out of the Bangkok airport. Good luck.

Cheers,
Carl
