Insurance and license

I have caught the adventure bug quite badly. I would really like to do some international touring. Here's the catch, I'm 19. Is it even possible to aquire international insurance and a valid license for doing such trips? Mostly Central and South America, New Zealand, and Europe. Any suggestions?

The only insurance you need to get in the US is travel insurance, i.e. health cover and recovery in case of accident, illness, etc. Your age is no obstacle here.

For Europe you need a Green Card insurance. Either you start your trip in Germany, in which case you walk into any ADAC office and buy the policy for one year. Or, you get it from Knopf Tours before you leave, link on this page somewhere.

For NZ no insurance required.

You can't get cover for your bike, only third party.

If you read through old posts in this forum you will find that most of your questions have already been answered.

Have fun planning your trip!
