Post Canadian with an Aussie bike license

G'day folks. I'm Canadian and just finished living in Australia for the past 3.5 years. While in Australia, I got my full car and motorbike license. However, my Ontario (Canada) driver's license only authorises me to drive cars.

When biking in various countries around the world, is it important that your bike license be from your home country?

When showing my documents to an official, would it be safe and sufficient for me to show my Aussie driver's license alongside my Canadian passport, or would that often cause them to ask me why I don't have a Canadian driver's license?

Cheers,
Nick

Nick, I'm an Australian who lived in Toronto for a few years in the early 90s.

As a regular traveller in to the US, I always showed my Canadian licence together with my Aussie passport - no problems with police or immigration. I also used the Canadian licence in Europe.

Best of luck in your travels,
Garry from Oz.

Thanks for sharing that, Garry. That's quite helpful. Do you reckon African and Asian countries would be as understanding/open-minded/clued-in, and not raise an eyebrow?

Yes, you should have no problems in Africa / Asia Nick.

I forgot to mention that I travelled in Asia / Africa on a British passport during the '70s but my licence was an Australian one. I simply presented my International licence and never had any issues.
