Without the boat: from Sudan to Egypt.

Dear Overlanders,

Heard stories that the cargo/military road from Wadi Halfa to Aswan is now open for tourists, if you pay, of course.

Does anybody has information on this?? Or anybody planning to do this??

Greetings, Jacob

Hey Jacob,

If you use the search option you will find some threads about the road, it isn't open yet. There is also no date in the near future that it will be open for tourists.

Cheers

Hi Jacob
if you are planning to travel from now to ,lets say next April ,just book the ferry
as im waiting for that road to be open for a year now and feel so sorry for all those long hours wasted searching for news or a way to use that damn mirage road
im sure few cars used it few weeks ago but heard they paid few thousands $$$ for that ,which individual like us cant afford it
so just plan as you will take the ferry and good luck

Richard and Omar,

Thanx for the advice. I just called a fixer to arrange the ferry: faster (I want to be home before christmas!!) and cheaper.

Thnx! Jacob
