Scott:
When are you leaving again? Billy (octane) is looking for a riding partner to guatemala around labor day. I was going to go as a dry run for my big trip, but decided it would be too uncool to take two weeks off then a month later quit.

All:
I just told my job that I'll be resigning June 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only 6 weeks of work left!!

Motorcycle trip through Mexico

Dave, I am an American Geologist working/living in Durango Mexico. When you ride down here there is a good chance that you will pass through Durango, especially if you plan to ride the highway to Mazatlan.

I ride a KLR-650 and know the area well. Give me a shout if you need anything. If you pass through here on a weekend I could ride with you for a day.

The highway to Mazatlan is the bomb! and there are several other Sierra Madre crossings that would be fun.

Stephen

Central America trip

Sounds like you are going to have a great trip. I have done the trip to the Darien Gap in Panama in January 2007,
I am currently in Sugarland, Texas for a couple of weeks. Would like to meet you and talk to you about your trip if you are interested. You can reach me at the Studio 6 281-240-6900 ext. 1244
I have my maps and pictures with me.
My name is Wayne Strader. Maybe we could meet at the Boat Restaurant.
Me and my wife both have BMW 650's.

I'm leaving on Saturday!!!!!!! Assuming I can get everything together. I'm pretty excited and starting to get a little nervous about the trip. Should be fun!

As of now, I'm traveling solo. As my previous post suggested, I'm going to blow through Mexico and really start the ride in Belize.

Well, I'm living columbus in aprox 1 week, I'm driving a Yamaha V star and may be I'll see you in the road. I'm fluent in spanish (Peruvian) and may be we can help each other, at least with some info on the roads.

Buena suerte y cuidese.

Cool. Send me an email when you get close to Guatemala. I'm going to be in Xela for a few weeks and you'll catch up to me while I'm there. The best way to get ahold of me if you can't PM here is through my blog contact form at Contact daveg » All the way south

Hopefully I'll learn some more spanish there =]

Heading south from Panama

Dave,
I'll be leaving Panama (where I live) about Sept 10 to TDF. Let me know your schedule and maybe we can meet up.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
