Smile Switzerland to Georgoia mid July end of August

Hey there

I have a 6 Weeks’ vacation starting on the 19th of July ending on the 30th of August.
My plan so far is taking me through following countries:
Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary.
Plan may change

I have no details on the route yet, just some hotspots I want to visit.
So if you want to join me for a section of the trip, just contact me and we will figure out the details.

I am 24 years old driving a BMW GSA 08, I am open minded and like to meet people. I have some Offroad experience with my big GSA so as long you don’t want to do some Hard Enduro stuff, I am in.

Any suggestions for the trip are very welcome.

So if you are interested in joining for the trip or just heaving a somewhere in the middle of nowhere and exchange some stories, feel free to contact me

Hi,

Am in Switzerland and the dates and itinerary mentioned in your post seem to more or less match what I have in mind. Going towards Turkey and then Armenia, Georgia and South West Russia to make it around the Black Sea and back West somehow Ukraine, if it's peaceful, or the baltic states. I'll see when I get there.

In May I did a tour via Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania and Moldova. Seeing Montenegro, Macedonia Albania, Bulgaria, Transnistria, Georgia and Armenia would is what I plan to do next this year. Ideally also the Carpathian portion of Ukraine would be terrific. Anyway, this can be planned later.

From a timing point of view, my Russian visa indicates that I cannot cross the border before August 25 (30 day validity). Therefore I am forced to work back from that date.

My bike is a R1200GS. Am 46 yo male.

If you're interested, send me a message and we can take it from there.

Thanks.

Hi Guys,

It's a shame about the dates as I intend to do much the same starting early September.

For information: As far as I know you can't go from Turkey straight into Armenia, you have to go into Armenia through Georgia.

Good luck.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
