Riding to Guatemala

I am planning a ride from Alabama to Guatemala in the late April to June timeframe.

My plan is to stay there as long as it takes to pick up as much Spanish as I can and then head to Costa Rica. This is the start of my retirement. If I like the road better than Costa Rica or any other place I might stop I will stay on the road.

Anyone heading South?

Panama

I might be driving from Las Vegas to Panama City, Panama in late April.

Let me know if this fits your time frame.

Mex City

If you are interested in coming to Mex City you are more than welcome. It is a great city with a lot to see. I normally meet people just outside the city and then guide them in.

I am planning on being down there during that time frame, hope to be leaving here (BC, Canada) by the middle of the month (april) and travelling down the coast, through Baja, onto mainland Mexico and then wherever the bike takes me from there!

Hopefully I'll run into some of you guys down there!

Should be interesting as I speak almost zero Spanish and this is my first big trip!

In Xela

Sorry I have not checked this thread in awhile.

I am now in Quetzaltenango (Xela) Guatemala. Struggled through Mexico with no Spanish and am now spending some time studying the language.

i do not know how long I will stay here. If any riders are in the area give a holler.

Heya Rich, I´m in Guadalajara, Mexico right now, and heading to Playa del Carmen. I´ll be in Mexico DF (capital) tomorrow.
I´m going to stay in the area of Playa del Carmen for a while, and then head to Argentina through Guatemala, with lots of stops in the way.
It´s always good to have company! And I speak some spanish, which is very useful!
