Los Angeles to Argentina (with a sexy Russian)!

We are looking for people and/or groups that would like to tag along as we approach your city (just tag along for a while... not the whole trip)

Check out our route and let us know if we are in your way.

If you are coming to Mex City you are welcome to stay with us. We will put you up and show you round. I also have a V-Strom so would be even happier to see you.
I would recommend a bash plate and some crash bars if you haven't already fitted them. I have Hepco Beker crash bars and a Amotostuff bash late. The bash plates reduces ground clearance and will frequently hit on "topes" but saves the engine and pipes. I drilled a hole in mine to make oil changes easier.
Safe travels.

Wow..I like the detail of your map and planning, you must have spent a great deal of time on it. I'm leaving Florida for Argentina the beginning of March and havn't done something like this because I can't seem to acurately determine travel times and distances. Sure wish Microsoft Streets and Trips worked for South America. I can't even accurately determine the duration of the trip.

I'm just going to take off and hope I'm there in under three months.

When U guys think to take off?
I'm in Florida and going to Peru. I'm getting the bike ready and hopefully will take off by July. I ride alone.

Hey, Steam Turbine, where in Florida are you? I'm in Miami and have a 2005 DAKAR, maybe can meet and have a little trip testing bikes and gear.

I don't have it clear yet, but I would like to get around the States first. New York, Colorado, Utah, California. Don't now exactly my road thru Mexico either, if the Pacific or Gulf, or both. Any advise? look like you have it pretty well plan. After that I'll be flexible in direction and time.

Apparently we my consider in dates, will be nice if do some miles together.

Do you know how much it will cost you to get from Cabo San Lucas to Mazatlan? and from San Blas, Panama, to Cartagena?

I don't count with a big budget so that cain off tips help me a lot in choosing my route.

Thanks.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
