ladakh/zanzkar trip - August 2011
Hi guys,
I am a french guy living in south india for a while, and i am seriously thinking to go for a moto trip in Ladakh in August,(date to discuss), starting from Manali. Check out this blog (Ladakh, Heaven on Earth, YogeshSarkar.com) especially from day 4 ... it looks amazing ! My idea is to rent pulsar 180 CC in Manali (i am neither a hardcore biker nor a mechanician, so no Enfileds for me!) , and get inspiration from the route described in this web site ... India to Leh
I have taken this trip two times and it is the most awesome riding I have ever done. If you like mountains and fast running rivers this is the trip for you. It is very very remote so I would suggest a Royal Enfield and there is a guy called Anu in Manali that has very good new bikes. Very reasonable and well cared for. I can get you his web site but I deleted it from my favorites as I was not planning on going back to India. You should be able to find it easily by doing a search on the net. Enjoy

I found that web site for Anu. He only uses real parts and keeps a very good shop. He sends spare parts with you as well. We ran into many on the road that had bad cheap Chinese parts. One had 3 sets of rear wheel bearings but we rode two up for 30 days and had no problem except a flat tire and that was fixed for me by the Army convoy. It is a great trip and I can not recommend it enough.
