Company sought - April/May 2008

I'm in the early stages of planning a trip in April/May 08 (taking early retirement). I fancy heading from UK through Eastern Europe, Turkey and then try to get up through the Stans to Mongolia before heading back through Russia and maybe Finland and Norway if time allows. Got three months free for the trip.
Done lots of European trips and the Baltics but never a 'big one'.
(I have heard that Turkmenistan is closed to foreigners so could go around the top through Ukraine) Got a BMW GS, 57 years old. Camp and/or hotel. Interested? Either e-mail or post reply. I plan on going to Ripley again this year so could meet up there?
Cheers
Paul

I'm with ya mate.
Picked up the 1200GS last week and spent the weekend taking it apart and putting it back together (no bolts left over thank god).
Installed my GPS and Autocoms, everything works fine.
Going down for the Regional Meeting in 2 weeks, so should come back with some ideas.
Planning a decent shakedown run for Easter - riding to Ularu with a mate for the week and camping (about 6,000km round trip) - that should get my bum sorted out.
Got a mate in the Netherlands that we could drop in and see (he's got a Yammy) and has offered us a bed and a few days riding round.
Still got a year of planning - but lots to do.
Be in touch as things get closer.
Regards
Mick

Thumbs up Good to hear from you...

Good to hear from you again Mick. Like you said - we'll keep in touch with plans. Enjoy the trip at Easter. We're off on a ten day jolly to Spain and Portugal in May. Enjoy the regional meeting. All the best. Paul

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
