Hello, I do understand your dilema, I do share it, I've been around on motorbike (XT 600 from Europe over Russia to Mongolia (bought it in Belgium 1000 Euro, sold it in Ulan Bator for 1000 dollar !We crossed China on public transport (too expensive on motorbike. Entering Vietnam we hired Honda wave in Hanoi (no paperwork, 50 dollar for one month!!), visited Vietnam (3500 km), went to Cambodga and did the same, Thailand, Laos ...finally we flew to Australia and NZ
We had little budget but a fantastic trip
Riding a small bike is consistently cheaper than bicycling I think...
, how much petrol can you finish in one day on a Honda wave (two on one bike)(5 dollar, maybe 6 ? I don't remember) BUT when 2 persons are cycling for a whole day ! They need lots, lots of food in excess of the normal ratio, wich cost certainly much more than the petrol you need on the wave
Off course, it is a matter of choice, both ways are unforgetable, enjoy
