just went from Creel to Cerocahui to Urique to Batopilas and back to Creel. NO PROBLEMS Army and narcos at different points but everyone was friendly . Narcos even hauled our bikes over the river in the back of their half ton for us. Road Creel to Cerocahui paved except for one detour close to that town. Road from Cerochui to Urique passable. Road from Urique has about 5 klms of steep baseball size bigger and smaller rocks. Graders are smoothing out the tops closer to Batopilas but would be very slick in the rain. Batopilas to Creel mostly paved .Rocks from marble size to a tool shed size on road but no problem. I ride a 650 vstrom and it is not the bike to take between Urique and Batopilas. Elrodio to Batopilas good. San Juan de Dios to el rodio good. Tubares to San Juan de dios has a bridge out. The road going to the south about 2 kls back from that river leads down to a river crossing croch deep when we were there. When you cross over the croch high river crossing heading to san juan de dios do not take the first right turn down the little use road . GO STRAIGHT. We turned there and ended up in a farmers yard a few miles down the road. Choix to Tubares good.

Yes. The "canyon" is huge. Depends on the moto you are riding and the roads you want to take. I've been down in the canyon on a 1150, 650, and 250. By far, the 250 was the most fun, but go with what you own. Bigger bike and the moto skills of a normal human being, you might end up going in and out on the same road.
