Hitting a dog in Central America.

Hey guys, I hit a dog in Guatemala as I was leaving a small village. I am an animal lover, but I made the choice to keep going without stopping. The reason for this was because there were villagers all around and if I had got off the bike to try and help the dog it is very likely that one of them would have tried to scam me into pretending it was their dog. It is not the same with dog ownership in these countries. Most dogs do not have owners and roam the streets trying to find a place to get food. If you ride down here you will quickly notice that every 2nd dog has a limp. This is from being hit by a vehicle!

The most dangerous thing to watch out for is dogs following small children because they will often try and chase the dog into moving traffic. grrrrr
