fake CDI as hiding device for money, any idea ?

sorry if this issue may was asked some where before on the HUBB, but I can't find any hint.

wonder if any one had found a sort of fake empty electric device like a CDI or big
flash relay for hiding money on the bike.

There are outdoor mail order shops here in Germany who sale empty food tins with a screw lit and a label on it to suggest there are sweet corn or soups in it, so you can mix the tin up in to your food storage to hide your valuables.

regarding the limitation on space and hiding options on a bike for this sort of valuables like money, may a empty water tight CDI box or fake battery, easy to open with a LUCAS or BOSCH label or what ever stamped on to it and some cable sticking out of it would be a option to mount some where safe to the bike for storage of cash. Just some thing that looks like a ordinary EL-tech part of the bikes electric if the bike gets searched............

Any one know any thing like this or has experiences using this, would like to here
about it.

I really like your idea! You can buy small plastic electronics boxes for really cheap. Run a few wires out so that it looks like it functions, slap on a Bosch sticker and zip-tie it to the bike somewhere. I already have a really good hiding place on my bike for spare keys and cash, but i don't wish to share it on a public forum

We hid our CDI boxes in the airbox so it wouldn't get 'nicked', as is common in SA. Don't think that would work there, at least not on a bike common to that area!

It has to look original - bolted not zip tied!.

Why not use the original boxes ? ... you might find some space inside.

Most electronics are covered in an epoxy potting compound that protects from vibration and prevents repair over replacement. You'd wreck the box getting in there.

A nice empty electronics case from Maplin/RS/Radio Shack would save the hassle IMHO. How about using the wires to run an LED? It'll look like part of the alarm or a TDC contact on an aftermarket electronic ignition box.

Personally I pull the rubber bung out of the subframe tube and use that space.
